A description of camp you're staying with:
The theme of the Deviant Playground is to give everyone a chance to experience their childhoods all over again without the pesky consequences. It's a place to play, explore, learn, and to be that evil deviant child you always wanted to be. Participation in our camp can include basic childhood related activities or extend to events of a more adult nature.
Job/Career Title:
Consultant
Your job/career and what you actually do:
Systems Admin kind of stuff. I make the computers that run web pages (lots of them) work. Networks, hardware, software, data bases, the works. Unix of some type always. Windows shouldn't run as a web server.
Past Camps:
Solo Collective, SoLoCo, Harrem, Pyramid Scheme, Cuddle Puddle, Terra Nova
Why Burning Man? Why are you going?
Originally went in 2000 because it sounded like a place I could freely be myself, with out judgments or looks or stereotypes. What I found more self confidence, the ability to be me anywhere regardless, a few long term friends, relationships, and so much more.
I go back each year to get a reminder, but also it's now a place I can experiment with art, social forms and many other things in a change positive environment.

How or where did you first hear about Burning Man?
From Charlie Crocket a fellow Naturist. On a house boat trip around 1997
Volunteered with:
greaters, exoduse, regional network, earth guardians and a lot of not so formalized things.
What would you do differently if you could go back in time from a past Burning Man experience:
Nothing I would change. I've had some stunningly bad ideas and some disasters. But I've learned from them all and I wouldn't take that learning away for anything.
Where are you from? Where have you lived?
Virgina Beach, Wilmington DE, West Grove PA, Hagerstown MD, West Grove PA(again), Broomall PA, Arizona

Top 10 reasons to go to Burning Man:
(or as many as you can think of)
I go for:
Community, free and wild times, acceptance, divertisty, decomadification(no commerce), gifts and love given freely, art, dirt and those magic moments I don't see coming.
Top 10 things you don't like about Burning Man:
(or as many as you can think of)
-I don't like it when people just see it as a big party. I think the gates should close on Thursday unless you have made arrangements. (because the weekend is all some people can physically do).
-I don't like it when people revert back to normal life so easily. Think about your actions off playa...
-Money, I'd like to do away with it entirely at the event, find a different way to do ice and coffee.
-Lack of water. I love the playa, but sometimes I wish it was at sea :)
BurningMan Experience:
90% of my stories start as "this one time at burning man..."

I was dressed as a lion and had just finished chasing a billion bunnies to the man, surprisingly few of which got the joke. When a guy with a cart offered me a margarita, damn good one too. For some magic reason the cup never emptied. The guy was very sneaky about keeping it refilled. My self and a few of the bunnies then started back to the city (yes with a full cup). I tried to ride my bike, but nearly fell off it. I tried to walk and had to be steadied by bunnies. The moral of this story is that if you are a lion then the bunnies far outnumber you, so have a drink, or six.
BurningMan Tips & Tricks:
Rebar it down, no seriously, rebar it down.
Extra water doesn't help
Go to the newbie orientation if you are new.
Don't get drunk so much you have recovery time or worse forget things. Be moderate and your over all experience is better
Don't do drugs, let them do you.
Years you've gone to Burning Man and your "Burning Moments":
(these are when you say, "oh my god did you just see that" or when something unigue happened to you.)
2000-present.
