The main feature - the open-to-the-public Amphibia tent – a 65-foot diameter, 16-foot high radial dome that looks somewhat like a giant jellyfish with a 32-foot tall tower in the center of it. Within the dome will be a jungle themed space full of couches. We will have some live plants in a small hydroponic farm. There will be a small stage and movie screen. We plan to have a misting system in part of the space and maybe a fountain. The central tower will have a ladder up to an observation platform about 24 feet up. The Amphibia structure will be a large and unique structure that will stand out along the Esplanade day and night. Our goal for Amphibia - to provide an inspiring and relaxing, jungle-like place for people to hang out, talk, watch and participate in performances, and see environmentally themed art movies. A GINORMOUS dome (65ft diameter) made of steel w/ a tower (about 32ft tall)poppin outta the middle w/ an observation deck at 24ft up. It is beautiful! The inside will be decked in jungly, watery, amphibi-ey coolness. We will have a small stage, movie screen, couches, snake pit and a hydroponic garden. We will be hosting performances (dj's, Arche Dream are some), midnight movies with eco themes, display info on green topics such as water conservation and hydroponic stuff, have a raw food potluck, and loads of other cool stuff! We will be using solar energy for some of our power needs and will have grey water treatment going on. We will also be one of the few camps who participate in the composting camp's project. The hostel has been helping Foreign Burners make connections and transitions to and from the playa for more years than I have been involved. Always have SEVERAL countries represented, making for a great mix of fun and foolery. This year we will be joined by the CouchSurfer.com people. Well, it started out as happy camp, and i guess last year (or the year before??) some people from camp C.O.C.K (the words corisponding to those letters i always forget! but it does stand for something..) merged with happy camp to create, happy!!........cock. one of the ways people know happy campers is that we yell "HAPPY!!!!" out at random times and any other happy campers or others in on it will shout "HAppy!!!" right back. now, somtimes, COCK! is added at the end of it. haha! neato eh? happy cock camp was born :D -K8 |

Most of my camp mates are from the bay area. We are welders, bellydancers, musicians, DJs. We are doing a burner singles tipsy, a hafla, and having a bluegrass jam, and many might be involved in the Burning Bellies event on the playa. This is first time I have camped with this group of people I am very excited as I have always wanted to camp with new people that I don't consider my "safety net". Did the alien exchange last year and really liked.. I am kind of doing the same thing but on a much bigger scale this year. -Kat |

The Play Fairies will return to Burning Man and the playa again in 2007. Much of the symbolism of the past years will carry forward for the Fairyland camp, and we will reunite with the kindred spirits of past Fairyland incarnations. This year promises to be another new and exciting chapter in the Playa Fairies experience. We will be working in the theme of the Green Man (the Green Fairies), while being sure to stick to our fun events on the playa throughout the week including sock poi making, a general arts and crafts, an event centered around Tutu’s, and many more things.
