Attended since 93 in spirit. Attended 06: first year: health outreach, but no art or other projects except geodesic shade. 07 got married there, genuine fake disco floor, the "Love to Bone" icon was printed on the back of our wedding invite: there was no name at this time... Alison was just into Osteology... so she chose a stamp of a heart with a bone though it, doing the condom thing "love to bone" made sense, so the name stuck. Also all of our best friends and family were there even though they were all virgin burners and they loved it. 08: first theme camp, dance floor came back incarnated into the center of a "dance pod" which was a 35 foot tall inflato dome driven by air pressure, major technical problems (power and blower failures) major stress: "Welcome to Theme Camp Land." Had a great last half of the week. There was also that night on the bus :) that got us out of freak out mode and into enjoying ourselves despite the technical difficulties. -Bill |

2007: Biking everywhere, taking pictures. Getting free costume items from a generous burner. Sitting in center camp and hearing a singer with the most amazing voice. Seeing starfucker's oasis and a chair in the middle of nowhere. Seeing a lightsabre battle. Finding hope in the possibility that we can create communities and experiences like this in our lives. -Brandon |

Just the one year.. Number 2, here I come.. One great moment, was being re-united with my roomie/boyfriend after being apart for 3 months, and having a big movie-kiss in the middle of a white-out, next to the Virgin bell. 2007 rainbow was utterly amazing. Things just worked out magically the whole trip. Some one would say they were hungry, and then seconds later someone came by offereing free spagetti. Or when i was craving a beer, seconds later we stumbled upon an almost full 12er of "dude" beer. Simply amazing. -Chris |

the Whale or Waffel was most spectacular thing I have ever scene. Running around in our EL wire velociraptor costumes and pulling people away from the 'tripathon' was pretty cool. Also being told 'thank you' from burners after riding around in our dino velociraptor outfits -really Kicked ASS. That was best gift I could get from folks at BM. Picking up as NY burner in Sacramento and giving a ride to BM was very cool. And fond memories of renting huge Ryder Trucks and building a deck atop it.... remember to let your diesel truck run for a bit before you can release the brakes after a week.... (a great ohh shit moment) lol Helping others make art kicks ass too. No limits! Play Hard/ Work Hard mix well at BM. -Corbin |

Let's see... my virgin year I camped w/Amphibia (had the collective memory of prolly more than 100 yrs on playa readily avail), burned in The Great Circle, burned on Shiva Vista as part of the opening group piece for it's last night, had a virtual roll-in-roll-out-entry AND exit to BRC, and no real travel/vehicle hassles either way... I guess that qualifies as "something unique", yes? -dan |

BM 06 - Man writes on the temple "three weeks left to live, and I'm spending one of them at Burning Man." The Waffle burns. BM 07 - The man burns early. BM 08 - I decided to just sleep through the man burning because well let's just say I needed the sleep, and I've done it before. I enjoy the temple burn much more anyway. THEN I get home and my hard core Republican, conservative, baptist parents are like "How was the burn? We watched the man burn on T.V. Saturday night"! Can you believe that! It was on current T.V. Scary when MY parents saw the burn and I missed it. Scary indeed. -Epic |

2003: sitting on a sofa with a Bunny a Bannana, a clown having drinks in a dust storm while a pirate ship went by with a marching band... seriously 2004: standing on an art car hood spinning fire while we drove across the playa 2005:dancing on the Space wench while the flower came down and kissed it 2006: finding my self with Nation playing a piano while I sang backed up by a full band on the esplanade 2007:Monday night wandering across deep playa with our friends Trilo and Pani and saying "did they turn the man out for the eclipse? I can't see the man" (he had burned and we didn't even notice) 2009: Finding a Virgin Burner Thursday night and taking him around to see things for the first time and going down the giant slide. -GiGi-D |

2008 - Woke up and found the shape of my head perfectly outlined with at least a quarter inch of dust all over and around my pillow. The rest of everything inside the tent was covered with dust so thick you couldn't tell what color anything was... simply playa. My "oh my god thought?" .... the playa is so f'ing cool! 2009 - Early entry and late exit gave me my moments this year. To watch the city appear and then vanish was it. '07. The double-decker bus that had a playground slide to exit, faerie lights, getting body painted with a Pisces redhead I met and doing Critical Tits as an art exhibit, Georgia on shrooms, the Canadians making breakfast (they put syrup on EVERYTHING!), Apocolyptica challenging us to a duel, smearing war paint on our faces and charging in to battle, only to lose disturbingly awful, The Boobie Bar, wanting to experience flogging and doing it at one of the camps (I was the flogee not the flogger), dancing, techno around the clock, make out monday, running into people we'd seen on the way up, falling in love/lust every minute, riding in art cars, including our fire engine, kissing somebody special, the random drum circles and such that broke out everywhere, especially in our camp... I could go on...and those were the things I was SOBER for! Can you imagine an entire week of sobriety??? -kris |

2001 - first year - everything I could imagine was seen in the first hour and THEN it began. More than I could imagine. 2002 - my first temple burn - who could possibly go home before THIS. Partiers have the Man and Burn night, spiritualist have the Temple. 2003 - camped on the Pyramid Scheme (125 yards of material! but what a fun project). 2004 - camped with Cafe Camp - probably my best year to this point. Things just fell together. 2005 - didn't go. My trip to S. Africa had just been too much to process. 2006 - ready to go, but blood clots said "no" 2007 - went back after a couple of years off, it was good. More settled into being their on my terms. 2008 - we'll see --- maybe the best is yet to come. Check back in with me in September. -Pam |

One of the most beautiful sunrises I've ever seen was out on the playa, 6:00 and trash fence. All was peaceful and crystal clear. The sky was a shade of crimson so vibrant it almost hurt my eyes. The calmness and beauty of the moment was truly intoxicating -TommyB |

1999, 2001, 2008. All burns were outstanding. However, I have to say that the temple burn in 2001 left me shattered, rebuilt and speechless. That was some year. I also enjoyed climbing all 14 stories of Babylon in 2008 and observing the sunrise Friday morning with about 100 other souls. Good times. -Trey |

Oh, wow, there are so many burning man moments, where I had to stop and say "this is just too amazing!!!". Here's one; a straight friend of mine went to Burning man and a woman he didn't know asked if he would wear her sequence thong and he said sure, (not right away, grin) then she said to my friend "you keep it, it looks better on you" so as we were biking around on the playa, and is in front of me, I have my friend in a woman's thong; I almost wrecked my bike trying not to laugh so hard looking at this thong on my friends ass, well what you could see of the thong anyway. 2005 - Temple Burn - it was a time of great significance for me, and I'll never forget it. I was completely in the moment - and the moment was beautiful. 2007- I picked three things I was DEFINITELY going to do, and I didn't do any of them...and I didn't care. What I DID do was visit Pee Funnel Camp, and get my very own pee funnel. This was quite possibly the best decision I ever made in my life. 2009 - The Year of The Awesome! 'nuff said. -Verbal |
