your bicycle and hydration pack are probably your best friends.
This year i'm taking a neti-pot (nasal irrigation). Google it neti pot to see what i'm talking about.
Have some TP with you at all times, just in case the portapoopers run out.

Sun canopy with good ventilation good, normal woodland camping tent with solid walls that trap in heat bad.
caffeine= your friend, cola nut works better caffeine just keeps you awake cola nut keeps you awake and alert and not tired.
lotion and take care of your feet.
bring your own toilet
(yes you will have to pack out your waist but it's better than the alternative)
Remember you only get to to this one week a year you can sleep when you get home.

Live in a Hexayurt! I cannot recommend that enough. I also brought a rug to go down on the floor in my hexayurt and an inflatable mattress. It was some Shangri-La going on there! Pack your stuff in an organized manner. This year I'm bringing one big diffuel bag. I am going to pack each days outfit in a seperate plastic grocyer bag. I wake up in the morning, pull out a bag, get dressed, and at the end of the day put everything back in the bag and tie it off.

I bring a bottle of cheap hair conditioner (think- Suave). If you put a little in your hair after showering and don't rinse it out, it will keep your hair from clumping up with playa dust. Also, if you are shaving from a cup, it works way better than shaving cream.
Leave it better than you found it.
Don't put your mouth on it if you don't know where it's been.

Camelbak for water, it makes it easy!
Get a hossack camp toilet with the bags and inserts, it saves you from having to deal with the porta potties. Huge help!
Bring an extra baggie with you.for wrappers, used condoms, etc. Don't expect anyone else to take care of even the smallest bit of your trash!
Lots of socks! Bring some to give away, someone will be grateful!
Take care of your feet.
Don't bring MRE's or quick meals. Bring real food. Cook at home, freeze it, and reheat it with a camp stove or on the dash of your vehicle. Ice cold coconut juice is the most refreshing thing ever.

Brings extra pads for your Swiffer duster....at least one, just in case it gets a little nasty. Also don't forget the "Detail" kit for your car. You may want to give it a good once over if it gets a little dusty. A good screen house type tent is the only way to go because it will be really comfy and cool while everyone else s tent will be hot and stuffy... really. Bring lots of DVDs because the tv reception is horrible and you will need something to keep you entertained. Oil based sunscreen is the best. The dust sticks to it and you will soon have an almost totally sunproof "skin" all over your body.

Bring way less food than you think you'll need. seriously. i did that this year and STILL had too much!
Find somewhere the first day that you can chill out and rest in. and i mean CHILL. i.e. swamp cooler domes, air conditioned RVs, mister systems etc.
above all, be open to anything and always remember to be present in the moment, in the now. if you're waiting for something to happen you're already missing it.
